Lost On You” by LP (aka Laura Pergolizzi) jumps to the top of the Rock n Roll for Grownups chart. This haunting song was released last year and reached #1 in seven European countries. After a slow start in the U.S., it’s now lodged in the top 10 of the national adult alternative airplay charts. Her unusual yet spine-tingling voice obviously has grown on American listeners.

Another somewhat quirky song zooms from #35 to #9 this week: “Feel It Still” by Portugal. The Man.  The Alaska band, now based in Oregon, has created a groovy tune reminiscent of the swinging 1960s that even includes the lyrics, “I’m a rebel just for kicks, now / I’ve been feeling it since 1966, now.”

If you prefer more traditional rock and roll, there are plenty of current songs by artists such as Cold War Kids, BNQT, Strand of Oaks, The Record Company, John Mellencamp — and even Chuck Berry, among many others.
