“K-E-Z” clobbered all comers in the latest Nielsen Audio radio ratings for metro Phoenix. Building upon its already huge lead since launching its annual all-Christmas music stunt, the station was just shy of tripling the audience share of runner-up KSLX.
If you burn out on holiday cheer, where do you tune? The answer this year seemed to be country music. KNIX produced a healthy increase in audience share and moved up to #5, while rival “Camel Country” also climbed five spots. Or you turned to “Alt,” which bounced back into the top 10. Public radio KJZZ also continued to attract yule tune escapees.
“Live” (KALV) and KTAR fell out of the top 10, and once-mighty “Kiss FM” (KZZP) continued to falter, dropping down to #16.
The Nielsen Audio ratings year is divided into 13 four-week periods, so the 13th “month” is called “Holiday” and covers December 7 to January 3. The top 10 stations during that stretch:
