ThePHOENIX50_2016_1_40

#1 song this week:

Englishman Barns Courtney‘s powerful  “Fire” remains in the top spot on the Rock n Roll for Grownups chart.

The Jayhawks move into the top 10 with “Quiet Corners & Empty Spaces” (#8). Mumford & Sons with Baaba Maal rocket from #34 to #14 with “There Will Be Time.” Michael Kiwanuka leaps 10 spots to #30 with “One More Night.”

Debuting at #40 is “Dark Necessities” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, lead single from their first album since 2011. One thing about the Chili Peppers — their music is so consistent that this song could have been released years ago (except, perhaps, for the piano). Guess that’s what they mean by “timeless.” Still sounds great, though.
