“Waste A Moment” by Kings of Leon hits #1 in just its fourth week on the Rock n Roll for Grownups chart.
This week’s four new songs (plus the Bullet) showcase the breadth of adult alternative rock:
- “True Sadness” (#45) by the Avett Brothers has a folky Americana sound with a social message;
- “It’s My Feeling” (#47) by Holy Sons is an ethereal love song;
- “Low Lays The Devil” (#48) by the Veils is a pulsating rocker with distorted vocals;
- “Classic Masher” (#50) by the Pixies sounds like alt-rock right out of the early ’90s.
And this week’s Bullet (a brand new song with hit potential) is “Just Your Fool” by the Rolling Stones, from their upcoming album of blues covers. The writing credit goes to blues harmonica great Little Walter, but the song is based on a 1954 hit by Buddy Johnson & His Orchestra.
