Ratings: Ho ho ho! K-E-Z soars with holiday tunes

’Tis the Christmas season and in radioland that means one thing: “K-E-Z” switches to holiday tunes and easily dominates the ratings for metro Phoenix. Of course, this year the station didn’t need Santa’s help as much — it’s been in the top spot ever since last Christmas with its regular adult contemporary format.

Classic hits KOOL, which managed to tie “K-E-Z” last month, slipped to #3 while classic rock KSLX is the new #2.

Other top tier stations remained fairly stable. Country rivals KNIX and “Camel Country” both slipped in audience share, while mainstream top 40 competitors “The Mountain” and “Live” both edged up.

These results represent radio listeners age 6 and older during an average quarter hour from 6 a.m. to midnight daily.
