Ratings: ‘K-E-Z’ Christmas bubble pops, but station stays at #1

| RADIO |

As usual each January, “K-E-Z” lost a huge chunk of its audience with the end of the holiday season. And as usual, enough of an audience remained to keep the adult contemporary station at the top of the metro Phoenix radio ratings.

Every other station in the top 10  except “Que Buena” gained audience share as that Christmas bubble got redistributed. KSLX and “Camel Country” retained their rankings at #2 and #3, respectively.

Talker KTAR showed a large gain, no doubt courtesy of the new presidential administration. Similarly, NPR outlet KJZZ had a big jump in audience share and moved from #19 to #14. Even conservative stalwart KFYI, which has taken a beating in recent months, gained listeners but stayed ranked at #18.

The largest gain in audience share among all stations was “Live,” which leaped into the top 10 from #12. Meanwhile, country KNIX fell outside the winner’s circle, despite a slight increase in listeners.
