Santa’s not even in town yet, but perennial holiday music champ “K-E-Z” already has locked up the top spot with its usual adult contemporary format. According to the latest Nielsen Audio ratings for metro Phoenix, 99.9 needed no help from ol’ Saint Nick to stay at #1 for the fourth straight month. That streak will undoubtedly continue after the annual yuletide switch sometime in the next few weeks.
The top four stations – “K-E-Z,” “The Mountain,” KSLX and KOOL – remained in position and all increased their audience share to stay head and shoulders above the rest of the field.
Other gainers in the top 10 included “Live,” KUPD and “K-Jazz.” Slipping to #11 was mainstream top 40 “Kiss FM” (KZZP).
Adult top 40 “Hot 97.9” (KMVA) produced a healthy jump in audience share and surged from #22 to #16.
