To no one’s surprise, “K-E-Z” leaps to #1 in the latest Nielsen Audio radio ratings for metro Phoenix. The station’s annual switch to all-holiday music still attracts the most listeners at Christmastime, though its audience share is down a bit from last year.

KSLX, “Mix” and KFYI seem to have benefited from the scrooges escaping K-E-Z’s yuletide cheer, while the remainder of the top 10 stations all lost audience share. Former champion KOOL appears to have suffered the most defections to the continuous holiday tunes.

This ratings period covers November 6 through December 3. Three of those four weeks came after K-E-Z ceased its usual adult contemporary format. If history is any guide, the station’s audience share will increase in the next ratings book that covers the weeks just before Christmas.
