“K-E-Z” retained its position as metro Phoenix’s most popular radio station, but lost some market share while runner-up KSLX gained, according to the latest Nielsen Audio ratings. The classic rock challenger came within one-tenth of a ratings point of tying the adult contemporary champ — which it had done two rating periods ago.
“The Mountain” moved from #6 to a tie at #5; otherwise, the top six stations held their positions. The real action was on the lower rungs of the top 10. Talker KTAR, undoubtedly benefiting from the presidential election campaign, jumped from #11 to #7. “Que Buena” also leaped into the top 10, from #13 to a #8 tie. “Live” fell to #10, while “Camel Country” (KMLE) and “Kiss FM” (KZZP) dropped to #11 and #13, respectively.
