For the fourth consecutive month, KOOL was the most popular radio station in metro Phoenix, though the classic hits outlet lost a bit of its audience share. Meanwhile, “K-E-Z” gained a slightly larger piece of the pie and moved up to a tie at #2.
In the talkers race, KFYI showed a significant gain and tied for the runner-up position. Rival KTAR lost audience share and dropped to #13.
In the battle of the country giants, “Camel Country” beat KNIX for the first time since December 2012. Only five months ago, KNIX topped the ratings overall.
“Trending Radio” rebounded into the top 10, while “The Mountain” dipped to #12.
This was the first full ratings period for the “Alt 93.3” format on KDKB. The station lost some listeners and now ranks #18. That’s not surprising — typically it takes time to build a new audience following a format change.
