Ratings: ‘The Mountain’ scales the summit again

| RADIO |

After one month out of the top spot, “The Mountain” has regained the title as the most popular radio station in metro Phoenix. The adult hits station experienced a huge increase in audience share, pushing classic rock KSLX down to #3. Adult contemporary “K-E-Z” also produced a significant jump in audience share and retained the runner-up position.

Classic hits KOOL pushed ahead, while “Kiss FM,” KUPD, “Live” and “Mix” each captured a smaller piece of the audience pie.

Country KNIX registered a tiny improvement in audience share and moved up a notch to #7. Rival “Camel Country” inched forward by the same margin and re-entered the top 10, pushing talker KTAR to #12. Public radio “K-Jazz” (KJZZ) crept up to #11.

Farther down, “Arizona Sports” (KMVP) – which broadcasts Arizona Diamondback games — took a huge hit and tumbled from #14 to #20, perhaps reflecting the D-Backs’ mediocre performance during the ratings period.

The top 10 stations from May 23 to June 19, according to Nielsen Audio:
