#1 at KZZP/Phoenix: “Who’s Crying Now” by Journey.
Phoenix native Stevie Nicks moves up to #3 with “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” a duet with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers that features guitarist Mike Campbell, who currently is touring with Stevie’s regular group, Fleetwood Mac.
The Moody Blues made a comeback in 1981 and scored two hits; they followed up the ELO-sounding “Gemini Dream” with the more characteristic “The Voice” (#7).
The Go-Go’s jump from #15 to #10 with their first hit, “Our Lips Are Sealed.” Sheena Easton drops to #8 with the James Bond movie theme “For Your Eyes Only.”
A trio of future rock radio classics are on this week’s list:
- Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” (#14);
- the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up” (#15);
- Foreigner’s “Waiting For A Girl Like You” (#22).
Debuting this week at #28 is a live version of “Say Goodbye To Hollywood” by Billy Joel. Originally a popular album track from 1976’s Turnstiles, this rendition is from Songs In The Attic — a collection of live performances of his early songs.
And finally, two relatively minor hits with cool guitar parts:
- “Draw of the Cards” (#19), Kim Carnes’ spooky follow-up to the chart-topping “Bette Davis Eyes”;
- “No Time To Lose” (new at #30), a re-release from 1979 by the Tarney/Spencer Band
