Wilco repeats at #1 on the Rock n Roll for Grownups chart with “If I Ever Was A Child,” holding off the powerful “All I Ever Wonder” by St. Paul & The Broken Bones, which moves up to #2.
Two artists accustomed to topping the charts debut this week with potential #1 songs: The Pretenders with “Holy Commotion” (#44) and Kings of Leon with “Waste A Moment” (#45).
Eliot Sumner climbs to #35 with “After Dark,” which sound uncannily like her father, Sting, who is right behind her at #36 with “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” — his most Police-like song in years.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are also back to back on this week’s chart. The former #1 song, “Dark Necessities,” moves down to #42, while its follow-up, “Go Robot,” which name-checks Phoenix’s own Alice Cooper, is new at #43.
Also debuting is “Glitter & Gold” (#48), Barns Courtney’s follow-up to his #1 song “Fire,” and “City Lights” (#50), a leftover song from 2005 by the White Stripes that’s part of a new acoustic compilation from Jack White.
